Description: ETC membrane is used to remove dissolved carbon dioxide in water. Product water carbon dioxide content can be decreased to 0.5ppm.
Details
Removal of carbon dioxide from water is a necessary process in many industries. Systems using RO and EDI technologies need to reduce carbon dioxide content in water. Entering the high conductivity level of EDI will reduce the resistivity of outlet water. The common cause of high conductivity is dissolved carbon dioxide in water. Removal of carbon dioxide from water by degassing membrane without any PH adjustment is a simple and easy process without additional pollution. With the removal of carbon dioxide, the EDI system can produce higher quality ultra-pure water.
In addition, before the ion exchange process, the degassing membrane assembly is used to remove carbon dioxide from water. Carbon dioxide in water imposes an additional burden on ion exchange resins, which require more frequent chemical regeneration. When using membrane contactors instead of chemicals, this can save costs and be environmentally friendly.

Matters needing attention: | 1. The module is only suitable for decarbonization of clean water with COD < 50 ppm and SS < 5 ppm. 2. Even if COD in water is less than 50 ppm, the surface tension may still be less than 65 mN/m, resulting in membrane infiltration. Therefore, the detection of surface tension is necessary before use. 3. The water should not contain oxidizing substances, such as hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, etc. ORP < 100 is required, otherwise the life of the membrane will be affected. 4. When used for a long time, the organic and mineral substances in water will cause membrane fouling, which will affect the removal and hydrophobic properties of the membrane. It should be cleaned regularly and restored. Cleaning methods can be referred to the "Ejik Membrane Cleaning Guide" and carried out under the guidance of Ejik engineers. |
